Thai Coconut adopts Sidel aseptic PET line

Thai Coconut, a manufacturer of coconut-based products, has adopted a complete aseptic PET production line from Sidel to expand exports of coconut juice in both still and carbonated varieties, with packaging designed to meet international regulatory requirements and distinct shelf presentation.

The company, which has traditionally packaged its products in cans and cartons, turned to Sidel for a flexible line capable of producing both carbonated soft drinks and non-carbonated coconut juices at international standards of efficiency, resource consumption, and food safety.

“We chose Sidel due to its strong reputation and proven expertise in the aseptic market. Sidel’s packaging team have also developed a new bottle design, which enhances both our marketing impact and shelf presence,” said Montri Banraungsanor, chief technical officer at Thai Coconut.

The installed line integrates Sidel’s Aseptic Combi Predis technology, operating at 45,000 bottles per hour. The system combines preform sterilization, blow moulding, filling and capping into a single process. Predis uses dry preform decontamination, reducing water and chemical consumption while maintaining food safety standards. Sidel’s Evo-ON performance technology is also integrated to monitor and optimize production in real time.

The aseptic line processes both carbonated and non-carbonated products on a single line, accommodating two distinct 350 ml bottle types – still and carbonated – using the same filler. According to Sidel, this versatility helps optimize total cost of ownership. The Aseptic Combi Predis is designed for operational simplicity, limiting downtime and reducing the training burden on operators.

A key factor in the partnership was compliance with US Food and Drug Administration requirements. The line is FDA-ready, enabling Thai Coconut to export to the US and other global markets. The company said 90% of production from the new line is designated for international markets.

“We are recognized by customers as a reliable partner for PET packaging and aseptic solutions. Demonstrating our commitment to the performance of our customers, during customer validation, the recent line installed at Thai Coconut delivered 100% efficiency,” said Parkpoom Praprom, sales director for Southeast Asia Pacific at Sidel.
