At drupa 2024, Soma showcased the Optima2 in action with live demonstrations, highlighting its high-speed capabilities of running at speeds up to 600 meters per minute. They saw live demonstrations showcasing Soma’s Advanced Bounce Control technology, along with the intelligence and automation that facilitated error-free job changeovers.

Additionally, attendees were introduced to the new Proxima flexo press, known for its blend of simplicity and sophisticated technology, offering an economical and efficient printing solution.

Optima2 was in action with live demonstrations. These demos not only highlight the press’s high-speed capabilities, running very demanding designs at speeds of up to 600 meters per minute but also showcase Soma’s Advanced Bounce Control technology – a testament to the company’s commitment to innovation and quality. Furthermore, Soma showcases the impressive intelligence and automation built into the press, which facilitates error-free job changeovers – features that enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.

Pluto III.2 & S-Mount

In addition to the Optima2 flexo press, Soma presented its automatic plate mounter, the S-Mount, designed for quick and precise plate mounting, and the Pluto III.2 slitter rewinder, featuring an integrated waste management system that underscores Soma’s dedication to sustainability and efficient production.

Intelligent Printing Unit (IPU)

Soma has introduced the recently launched Intelligent Printing Unit (IPU), a pioneering solution in flexographic printing. The IPU, designed to integrate seamlessly with Soma Optima2 flexo printing presses, enables single-pass operations that dramatically increase the efficiency of package print production. This includes the application of various barrier or functional coatings, as well as heat/cold seal capabilities.

Proxima

Soma also introduced the Proxima flexo press. As the newest member of the Soma family, Proxima embodies the synergy of simplicity and sophisticated technology. Proxima offers an economical and efficient printing solution focused on operational comfort.
