Siegwerk launches FastMatch Cloud color management solution

-

Siegwerk, a global provider of printing inks and coatings for packaging applications and labels, has launched Colorwerk FastMatch Cloud, a cloud-based color management solution developed in collaboration with X-Rite Pantone, a color standards and color science company. The digital solution combines ink formulation, color correction, and quality control in one integrated system to help printers and converters achieve fast, accurate, and consistent color results across multiple presses, locations, and production processes.

As part of Siegwerk’s global Colorwerk color management program, FastMatch Cloud enables centralized color data management and standardized ink recipes through a secure cloud database accessible via any web browser. It supports ink formulations based on multiple applications, customer-specific tolerances, and selected colorant assortments, enabling consistent color reproduction throughout the packaging value chain. Integration with X-Rite Pantone solutions, including PantoneLIVE, is said to ensure that digital color libraries and industry standards remain up to date.

“With FastMatch Cloud, we transform how color data is managed in packaging printing,” said Kiran Deshpande, global senior expert color management at Siegwerk. “By combining Siegwerk’s formulation expertise with X-Rite Pantone’s color science and cloud technology, we enable customers to work with reliable, standardized color data anytime and anywhere.”

Another feature of FastMatch Cloud is its ability to use press-returned ink in new matches or batches, according to the company, which is intended to reduce aged ink inventory, cost, and space requirements.

Powered by X-Rite Pantone technology, FastMatch Cloud delivers formula calculations in under 20 seconds, said to be a 50% speed increase compared to previous systems. Combined with integrated QC tools, this is said to help converters increase their initial color match rate, thereby reducing ink consumption, minimizing waste, and cutting down on press downtime.

“Today, packaging printers need scalable, secure and connected color solutions,” said Nick Meyer, business unit director, print and packaging at X-Rite Pantone. “FastMatch Cloud delivers the flexibility of cloud computing combined with trusted color intelligence, enabling consistent results and confident decision-making across the entire production workflow.”

Customers using FastMatch Cloud have reported improvements in day-to-day operations, including faster color matching and more stable production workflows. “Since transitioning to FastMatch Cloud, we have seen big improvements – and we love it,” said Kevin Wemple, plant manager at CL&D, during the Colorwerk Conference 2025. “Out of seven or eight ink suppliers, only Siegwerk understood our needs. When it comes to color matching solutions, Siegwerk is far ahead of others in the industry.”

From 15–17 September 2026, Siegwerk will demonstrate FastMatch Cloud at LOUPE Americas in Chicago, at stand 1024.
