Selig Group showcases pharmaceutical liners at PMEC 2025

-

Selig Group, a global leader in container sealing and venting technology, is showcasing its growing range of pharmaceutical and nutrition application induction heat seal liners at PMEC India 2025. A new guide, showing how liners can help pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, vitamin and supplement packaging producers and manufacturers navigate product protection and sustainability challenges, is also available to download from www.seliggroup.com. Alongside this, Selig Group has also launched a new liner optimised for industrial applications.

Induction heat sealing plays a major part in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, vitamin and supplement packaging, due to the many benefits it offers producers and customers alike. Selig Group’s drug master files, created and updated over the past 50 years, enable worldwide regulatory compliance as needed for producers and the team is on hand to advise on best solutions for each application. Liners featured at PMEC India this year include:

FoilSeal – available in one and two-piece (temporary wax bonded) induction innerseals, with various combinations of foam, board, paper, film, aluminum foil, and heat seal layers, it is designed and engineered to create a perfect, tamper-evident seal on almost any package.

Lift ‘n’ Peel TamperSeal – Designed specifically for OTC pharmaceutical packaging, this seal incorporates important tamper-evident features, alongside ease of opening.

Lift ‘n’ Peel and Lift ‘n’ Peel Lite – these easy-open seals consist of a half-moon pull tab that has been designed to be ergonomically easy-to-grip, flexible, and extremely strong. The lite version offers the same functionality but up to 20% less material, making it ideal for those wanting to support sustainability targets.

AirFoil – This proprietary vented heat-induction liner system eliminates the distortion of plastic containers by allowing them to “breathe”, making it useful for containers housing contents that creates off gases (such as protein powders), when the contents breaks down.

Also, Selig Group will launch its Safe-Gard Industrial liner. The multi-layer barrier liner has been optimized for use in industrial applications, and offers producers a cost-effective, hermetic seal to PE containers. It has been designed to seal both aggressive and non-aggressive contents in agricultural, institutional, cleaning, pet and motor care applications and more. It features a robust material in the liner that provides an increased tolerance to higher temperature storage, compared to the original Safe-Gard liner. The two piece pulp backed heat induction foil innerseal creates a weld seal with PE containers and enables high performance and protection for even the most challenging contents.

Peter Tindale, Sales director international at Selig Group, said, “PMEC is the ideal opportunity for us to showcase the ways we can help ensure pharmaceutical packaging is secure, long-lasting and more sustainable. India is important to us as a Group and as such, we have invested over the past years in a partnership with Mumbai-based logistics experts, Altek, who provide our warehousing and product fulfilment across India. By creating this base, our Indian customers can benefit from local lead times and currency rates, as well as avoiding import taxes.”
