Schreiner ProTech opens Pressure Compensation Seals Process Center

-

Schreiner ProTech, a Germany-based global leader in developing and manufacturing innovative functional labels with value-added benefits for the automotive and engineering-based industries, has commenced production at its new Pressure Compensation Seals Process Center. The facility centralizes the company’s production of pressure compensation seals (PCS), handling all production-related duties from initial materials reception to final manufacturing.

A key consideration in the new facility’s establishment was compliance with current and future technical cleanliness requirements, particularly those enforced in the automotive and electronics industries. The space’s enhanced architectural, spatial and air filtration features will allow Schreiner ProTech to meet and exceed such requirements.

The centerpiece of the PCS Process Center is an intricate six-ton high-precision punch press utilized for exclusive, customized products, such as Schreiner ProTech’s PCS HighProtect and nameplate-integrated PCS applications. The infrastructure was specifically developed and purchased for the purpose of complying with the exacting tolerances and requirements of the automotive industry for these types of complex, multilayered products.

By providing more room and improved layout for extensive functional inbound goods inspections, in-process inspections, and automated finished parts inspections. the PCS Process Center will help Schreiner ProTech further enhance its already lofty quality standards. The continuation of short throughput times, and the utilization of advanced manufacturing technologies that enhance product reliability, round out the process center’s benefits set.

For Schreiner Protech, the new facility is seen as a culmination of a signature product’s portfolio evolution, whose continued growth and offerings breadth necessitated a larger, dedicated manufacturing space for streamlined workflow.

“Due to the physical proximity alone, team members from various disciplines can communicate more efficiently along the entire PCS value chain,” said Christian Liebetrau, head of the new process center. “That collaboration makes it possible to identify and jointly resolve challenges more expediently, further enhancing our already-high standards.”
