Dry Molded Fiber is a resource- and cost-efficient, fiber-forming technology for replacing single-use plastic at scale

Swedish packaging company, PulPac, and its groundbreaking Dry Molded Fiber technology are attracting interest worldwide. The company recently announced it has signed a license agreement with Matrix Pack, a leading global provider of fiber food packaging products and solutions, with seven manufacturing plants in North America and Europe.

Matrix Pack was founded in 2009 and has since grown into a well-renowned producer of disposable products and one of the largest sustainable drinking straw manufacturers worldwide. Much of its growth can be ascribed to its innovative mindset and focus on sustainable manufacturing and raw materials, further reinforced through PulPac’s Dry Molded Fiber technology license.

“At Matrix Pack, we always have a progressive mindset, identifying market changes, adapting accordingly, and having what it takes to be industry leaders,” says Dionysis Valentis, business development director at Matrix Pack. “We feel that the time for change is now, and we believe our investment in Dry Molded Fiber technology, starting with Hot and Cold drink lids in North America and Europe, will allow us to further develop our technology stack, product range, geographical reach, and ultimately add value to our partners and customers.”

Dry Molded Fiber is a resource- and cost-efficient, fiber-forming technology for replacing single-use plastic at scale. The technology is invented and owned by PulPac and made available to packaging manufacturers via licensing.

“Matrix Pack has the ambition, drive, and willingness to be a trailblazer for sustainable packaging in Europe and North America — they are a true changemaker in the packaging world,” says Sanna Fager, chief commercial officer at PulPac. “We’ve seen Matrix Pack make impressive progress over the years, and we look forward to joining forces to further accelerate Dry Molded Fiber production.”
