Pro Mach launches 180-bag-per-minute Matrix Morpheus VFFS machine

-

The Pro Mach Flexible Packaging Group introduces to the global packaging industry at interpack, 4-10 May 2017, in Hall 14 at Stand E31, the up to 180-bag-per-minute Matrix Morpheus vertical form, fill, and seal (VFFS) machine. The Flexible Packaging Group also introduces in Europe the up to 150-bag-per-minute VFFS Matrix Apollo and showcases the operating and versatility advantages of FLtècnics horizontal forming, filling, and sealing (HFFS) pouch machines.

Both the Morpheus and Apollo feature a small footprint to conserve floor space, high speed for greater throughput, Beckhoff PC-based architecture for high-speed motion control, and PackML compatibility for fast start up and ease of operation. Utilizing the latest technology, which slashes the cost of servo motion, Matrix incorporates its proprietary AutoPro servo controlled axis adjustment technology as a standard feature on the Morpheus and as an option on the Apollo. AutoPro helps to reduce changeover time compared to similar machines by at least 50%.

AutoPro automates adjustments as fine as .025 mm (.001 inches) on each of nine mechanical axes. AutoPro archives adjustments as recipes and replicates those settings on command, giving brand owners and contract packagers the ability to run a wide number of stock keeping units (SKUs) on the same line for greater flexibility.

Morpheus and Apollo machines can run films that require longer dwell times for effective sealing, making these machines ideal for frozen food applications where polyethylene films are utilized. An Apollo with polyethylene optimized jaws for individually quick frozen foods (IQF) applications will be featured at the TEEPACK exhibit in Hall 11 at Stand E53.

FLtècnics horizontal forming, filling, and sealing pouch machines are built for lowest cost of ownership, offering minimized material consumption, long wearing parts, and highest overall productivity and flexibility. Pro Mach showcases FLtècnics technology at Interpack
