Soma has announced the successful sale of its state-of-the-art Optima2 flexographic printing press to Parakh Agro Industries, one of India’s pioneers in CI flexographic printing. The investment highlights Parakh Agro’s ongoing commitment to innovation and quality in flexible packaging.

Parakh Agro Industries caters to a wide range of markets and customer products, including exports of flexible packaging, barrier films, and laminates for hygiene, snacks and confectionery, and beverages for global brands. The company also produces packaging for its in-house food products such as wheat flour and legumes, among others.

The addition of the Soma Optima2 press marks a strategic move to optimize both long- and short-run print jobs while reducing waste. The investment was driven by the Optima2’s proven capability to meet the rising demand for high-quality, cost-efficient short runs, without sacrificing productivity for larger volumes.

“This acquisition of the Soma Optima2 was primarily driven by our need to enhance productivity, along with a focus on reduced waste. We also needed to fulfill the requirements of high-end hygiene product companies, which necessitates handling specialty films while printing exceptional graphics. After successful print trials and subsequent visits to Soma, we decided to invest in the Soma Optima2 flexo press along with an S-Mount A mounter – and put our trust in Soma technology,” said Parakh Agro’s leadership team – Suresh Parakh, CMD, Harshal Parakh, executive director, and Vinay Nalawade, CEO/director, Packaging Business.

“Parakh Agro has been a pathfinder in the world of flexo in flexible packaging. Under the able leadership of Vinay Nalawade and the vision of the Parakh family led by Harshal Parakh, the FlexiPack division has consistently adapted the latest technologies, principles, and advances in flexographic printing over the past two decades. Their willingness and vision to stay ahead of time by embracing new technologies is what has allowed them to welcome the latest offering by Soma. The Optima2 series flexo press will truly benefit their customers and ensure they deliver world-class flexo-printed films globally,” added Suhas Kulkarni, GM, Soma India.
