Pamex’s renewed focus on textile printing and soft signage in 2024

The printing industry in India has experienced a notable surge in cross-segment migration, particularly in the aftermath of the pandemic. The evolving dynamics of the industry were prominently showcased at Pamex 2023, where a dedicated hall was allocated to labels and flexible packaging. The exhibition received significant acclaim from industry professionals for its emphasis on the theme of ‘Convergence in Print’, effectively presenting and promoting this concept.

Continuing the narrative of convergence, Pamex has taken a step forward by expanding its focus on textile printing and soft signage in the upcoming edition.

Textile printing
With advancements in printing technologies and an increase in disposable incomes among consumers, the Indian textile printing market is experiencing a steady growth of 7% annually. While various printing technologies such as screen and sublimation printing are growing, the demand for digital printing technology surpasses others with a remarkable growth rate of 17%. This preference for digital printing can be attributed to its ability to offer enhanced flexibility and efficiency in production processes.

The textile printing machinery segment at Pamex will showcase manufacturers and providers of textile printing solutions. This includes a wide range of offerings such as digital printing machines, sublimation printing, DTF and DTG (Direct-to-Fabric and Direct-to-Garment) heat transfer machines, flatbed and rotary screen printing equipment, fabric label printing machines, as well as textile printing consumables including inks, chemicals, and auxiliaries.

Soft signage
The soft signage industry in India holds a significant value of approximately INR 1750 crores and is witnessing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10%. This growth presents a lucrative service opportunity for sign printers seeking to expand their offerings, while textile printers can seamlessly venture into this new business segment.

Interestingly, some sign and display service providers are leveraging their systems to diversify into fabric and garment printing, as well as commercial or home decor applications. This trend offers commercial printers facing challenges in their own segment an accessible pathway to diversification through textile printing and soft signage printing.

Within this segment, the displays at Pamex will encompass a range of products and solutions including digital soft signage printers, digital and screen fabric and textile printers, heat transfer machines, printheads, software, solvent-based, eco-solvent-based, UV curable, and latex inks, dyes, toners, cartridges, polyester-based and natural fiber textiles, blends, and other PVC-free media.

Pamex 2024 is set to encompass the entire spectrum of print-related industries, including labels, cartons, flexible packaging, corrugation, textile printing, and soft signage. Organized by the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) in collaboration with Print-Packaging.Com, this highly anticipated event will take place from 6 to 9 February 2024, occupying Halls 1, 2, and 3 of the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.

With over 500 exhibitors participating, Pamex 2024 is expected to draw more than 40,000 visitors from across India and neighboring countries. It promises to showcase the latest innovations, products, and technologies in the printing industry, providing a comprehensive platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and business opportunities.
