Around 40 guests from Europe and Asia attended the recent Open Day at Romaco Innojet, a leading supplier of processing technologies based in Steinen (Germany). In addition to live demonstrations in the laboratory as well as practical presentations in the assembly workshop, the agenda also included a talk by company founder Herbert Hüttlin. His inventions continue to form the basis of Romaco Innojet’s fluid bed technologies to this day.

Attendees from nine countries, mostly in Europe, but also from Turkey, Israel and Bangladesh, explored the facilities, starting with tours of the laboratory, training center, and newly expanded assembly workshop. Highlights included demonstrations of the Innojet VENTILUS fluid bed processors and the Innojet IGL granulation line, emphasizing production-scale capabilities. Notable innovations like the FLEXIJET nozzle for granulation processes and sustainable practices such as heat recovery systems were also showcased.

The event featured a presentation by company founder Herbert Hüttlin, who discussed the evolution of Romaco Innojet’s technologies, rooted in his pioneering air flow bed invention. At 81, Hüttlin reflected on his extensive career and over 170 patents, which underpin the company’s reputation for innovation. The afternoon continued with insights into Romaco Kilian’s tableting technology and Romaco Tecpharm’s tablet coaters, highlighting the company’s comprehensive approach to pharmaceutical manufacturing solutions.

Managing Ddirector Thomas Merle emphasized the day’s success in fostering closer client collaborations and showcasing technological advancements. Recent investments in the assembly workshop have significantly boosted production capacity, enhancing efficiency and doubling sales figures in the past fiscal year.

Overall, the Open Day not only provided a glimpse into Romaco Innojet’s latest technologies and sustainability initiatives but also celebrated its legacy of innovation under Herbert Hüttlin’s leadership, reinforcing its position as a leader in efficient processing solutions for global industries.

“We were able to give our international guests a broad insight into both our portfolio and our work in the lab. That was a top priority for us because we cooperate very closely with clients in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food and chemical industries, especially when it comes to formulation and product development,” said Thomas Merle, managing director of Romaco Innojet, when asked for his evaluation of the open day.

“That’s also why I was very keen to present our technological advances and the steps taken to modernize our business unit to our partners. We recently invested in the extension of our assembly workshop with the aim of creating new production capacity. This will allow us to optimize our lead times and vastly improve our efficiency. The effects are already reflected in our sales figures, which we almost doubled in the last fiscal year.”
