At Printpack India 2022, Faridabad-based NBG Printographic sold four machines, including two paper bag machines, a rigid box machine, and a flexo printing machine. While the flexo printing machine has been booked by a customer from abroad, Guntur-based Kommineni Printpack ordered one automatic square-bottom paper bags manufacturing machine, ZD-F450QX.

Catering to the printing and packaging industry for more than a decade and a half, Kommineni Printpack has both offset and gravure printing facilities at its plant. As the government of India sets 2022 as the deadline to phase out single-use plastic, the company sees it as an opportunity to establish itself as a prominent player in paper bag manufacturing for the domestic and export market.

N Siva Rama Krishna and his cousin K Babu, owners of Kommineni Printpack, earlier wanted to kick off the project in 2019 but had to delay it till June 2022 due to the pandemic. Krishna says that he plans to produce two lakh 220-550 mm width paper bags per day. The company has also invested in a 4-color flexo press to produce multi-color paper bags.

Meanwhile, Silvassa-based ARR Paper booked the other automatic square-bottom paper bag machine, ZD350, and Pragati Pack purchased the ZD350D automatic high-speed rigid box manufacturing machine which will be installed at its Noida plant. The fourth machine, the HT10 unit type flexo printing machine, was booked by an overseas customer.
