At Plastindia 2018, Mysore-based Darshan Flexibles displayed quite a few innovative solutions including registered strip laminated wrappers for confectionery packaging, random number printing for promotional activities in food product packaging materials, packaging of liquid concentrates and juices, packaging of tamper-proof and decorative films with security holograms, shaped and spouted pouches and many more. It was Darshan’s first participation ever at Plastindia.

Speaking to The Packman, Ashwinni Kumar, director at Darshan Flexibles, said, “We have received a very good response at the Plastindia show. Our main goal of participating at the event is to promote and market our range of products, and that goal has been well achieved.”

Darshan Flexibles is equipped with modern production facilities incorporating latest technologies from Italy and Germany. For printing, the company employs a Bobst Rotomec gravure printing press, while for lamination the company has a Nordmeccanica Super Combi 4000 – capable of solvent-less, solvent-based lamination as well as water-based lamination powered with vector drive motors and web tension control. “To ensure that we deliver innovative and consumer-appealing packaging solutions to our customers, the Bobst Rotomec is equipped with contemporary features like auto-registration, web video, defect detection system and reverse station option,” said Ashwinni Kumar, director at Darshan Flexibles.

The company has also an extrusion coating line with lamination which is predominantly used for food and coffee packaging among other products and is powered by a Huilong extrusion machine that aids in improving product shelf-life. The slitting re-winding unit of Darshan Flexibles can slit and re-wind up to 16 separate flexible rolls on each of its four high-speed slitting machines and four coil re-winding machines.
