Monotech Systems showcases digital print ecosystem at Pamex 2026

At Pamex 2026, Monotech presented a broad portfolio spanning digital production, embellishment, UV printing, finishing, and large-format inkjet. The highlight of the stand, however, was the PixelGlow digital print embellishment series, shown live through two models – the Vertex V2 format system, running at up to 125 B2 sheets per hour, and the entry-level Lumina. Also on display was the Radiant Pro Plus (A3+), completing the three-tier embellishment range.

Alongside PixelGlow, Monotech showcased Ricoh production presses including the Pro 7500 and the Pro 5400, finishing solutions from Plockmatic, Pixeljet and MRK UV flatbed systems, and Canon large-format inkjet printers. Sample galleries also featured the company’s NozzleJet high-speed web press, powered by Memjet printheads, and its digital label press platforms.

“These products together show our end-to-end capabilities – from printing to embellishment, finishing, and personalization,” said TP Jain, managing director, Monotech Systems.

Monotech’s journey in digital embellishment began more than a decade ago. “We brought digital print embellishment to India in 2012–13 with Scodix, who are pioneers in this technology,” said Jain. “Initially, the photo market adopted it well, and later, with high-speed engines, we entered offset and packaging through installations of the Scodix Ultra series.”

However, Jain believes the next phase of growth lies in affordability and accessibility. “We realized that the price points of high-end embellishment equipment were too high. But this is a technology that every printer should have in-house – offset, digital, or packaging,” he said. “That is how the PixelGlow concept was born – to deliver ROI at a price that fits into every print business.”

The strategy appears to be working. Monotech has already installed multiple PixelGlow units across India and has begun exporting the platform globally. “We have installed PixelGlow Lumina in Kenya, delivered Radiant Pro in Saudi Arabia, and just dispatched Radiant Pro Plus to Abu Dhabi,” Jain said. “We are now actively looking for partners worldwide. Our vision is to become a global player in digital print embellishment.”

Variable data, personalization and tactile value

With growing demand for short runs and personalization, digital embellishment is increasingly being paired with variable data workflows. “Everything we do is digital, so variable data is inherent,” said Jain. “Even in embellishment, we can do variable data embellishment – what we call VDE – where every sheet can have a different design, texture, or effect. That opens huge opportunities for personalization.”

Labels – slow start, steady momentum

Monotech has been present in the digital labels segment since 2015-16. While adoption was initially slow, Jain sees a clear shift. “Now we see customers who started with one digital label press coming back for a second,” he said. “Interest is building, and the market for digital labels is definitely growing.”

Growth despite market slowdown

Despite broader industry challenges, Monotech has posted steady growth. “We are about 10% up compared to last year. We expected more than 20%, but there has been a market slowdown,” Jain admitted. “However, it is catching up, and we are confident of closing the year with 15–20% growth.”

Strong response at Pamex

By the third day of the exhibition, the stand had already seen heavy footfall. “The last two days have been very busy,” Jain said. “People are amazed by the quality and the capabilities of our digital print embellishment.”

He highlighted a key differentiator: “We are probably the only embellishment device that can print directly on uncoated and textured media, without lamination. We can also do braille. These are features normally found in very expensive systems, but we offer them at a much more accessible price – along with AI-based, scanner-driven registration for precise alignment.”
