Mondi launches corrugated and solid board portfolio for food packaging

-

Mondi, a leader in sustainable packaging and paper, is strengthening its position as a trusted partner for the food industry with the launch of an extended food packaging portfolio. The portfolio now includes solid board solutions and digital printing capabilities following the acquisition of Schumacher Packaging, enhancing Mondi’s ability to serve customers across Europe.

With this development, Mondi offers comprehensive range of food packaging on the market – from corrugated and solid board solutions to a full range of flexible packaging. This expansion enables Mondi to support customers in meeting evolving consumer expectations, EU regulations and the growing demand for sustainable, convenient and stand-out packaging.

“The food sector is undergoing rapid change, with sustainability targets, EU legislation and shifting consumer behaviours all driving new requirements for packaging. By expanding our portfolio, we can help customers respond to these trends with solutions that are lighter, more sustainable and optimised for shelf appeal,” says Paulus Goëss, chief operating officer corrugated solutions, Mondi.

By integrating Schumacher Packaging’s facilities, Mondi has strengthened its European footprint, leading to greater production flexibility and regional supply reliability. Supported by accredited Food Safety and Performance Labs, Mondi delivers tested and customised solutions that enhance product safety, performance and shelf appeal. The company also operates ThinkBox innovation hubs, where technical experts and customers collaborate on packaging design and process optimisation.

With a broad range of digital, flexo and offset printing technologies, Mondi can meet a wide variety of customer requirements. As one of the first in the industry, Mondi has extended its 6-color digital printing for corrugated packaging to include white ink, reflecting the growing demand for white digital printing on brown substrates.
