Bengaluru-headquartered Megabound, a leading manufacturer of comprehensive hard-case solutions for bookbinding and rigid box making, has been serving the Indian market for the past couple of decades and is now rapidly expanding its client base overseas. At drupa 2024, Megabound captured the attention of numerous international buyers, sealing deals for over 50 machines.

N Srinivasa Reddy, director-marketing, Megabound, says, “This year, for the first time, we marked our significant participation as an exhibitor at drupa. In previous editions of the show, we only attended to distribute our product catalogs and promote our company a bit. But this year, we had a stand in Hall 14 where we showcased eight of our key bookbinding and rigid box-making machines.”

Reddy adds, “At the end of the show, we confirmed the sale of more than 50 units of our machines, worth around INR 6 crore, to buyers from Europe, Africa, America, the Middle East, and Asia. When I say Asia, it includes a couple of orders placed by two prominent companies from India. It was thrilling to see around 300 trade visitors from India flock to our booth during the show.”

During drupa 2024, Megabound machines attracted buyers from a diverse array of countries including Greece, Morocco, Romania, Turkey, the West Indies, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Algeria. “We are excited about the expansion of our global client base. Breaking into the European market is a significant milestone for us. It indicates that our machines have successfully met the rigorous European standards for design and operation.”

He further mentions that Megabound has undergone a series of certifications regarding safety protocols and product designs as per the regulations of the EU (European Union). “Achieving all these standardizations is to ensure our products and technologies strictly follow European ergonomic and aesthetic preferences, in addition to Indian norms.”

Megabound has successfully sold a range of its highly sought-after binding and packaging machines both domestically and internationally. These include the automatic board-to-board pasting machine, rigid box V grooving machine, rotary board cutter, semi-automatic case maker (CB-310), automatic case maker active dual, automatic book and paper pasting machine, and automatic top gluing conveyor, among others.

“Manufacturing our machines to meet European standards will ultimately position us, our products, and India to gain broader global recognition,” says Reddy. “We are eager for the next drupa in 2028, where Megabound will surely unveil more machines and marvels.”
