Labelexpo Europe 2023: Labeling adhesive innovations unleashed by H.B. Fuller

-

During Labelexpo Europe 2023, from 11 to 14 September, H.B. Fuller showcased its labeling adhesive solutions with a focus on sustainability, sealing, seaming, and repair.

One of the highlights of their presentation was the Swifttak PS 8405, a water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) with the unique feature of non-water whitening. Specifically designed for those in search of premium PET labels with a “no-label” appearance, this water-based PSA offers numerous advantages. It exhibits excellent resistance to water whitening, ensuring that labels maintain their pristine look, even in challenging environments and varying temperatures. Swifttak PS 8405 not only excels in performance, providing outstanding clarity and optimized peel, tack, and durability characteristics, but it also caters to applications where aesthetics are paramount, offering a seamless blend of functionality and transparent aesthetics.

H.B. Fuller also introduced the Gel-Tac line, featuring ultra-removable and highly repositionable products based on water-based acrylic, pressure-sensitive microsphere technology. With these Gel-Tac microsphere adhesives, including their ready-to-use formulations, applications such as photo albums, consumer advertising, masking tapes, wall or window decals, graphics, wallpapers, liner-less labels, and tape constructions can be easily repositioned or replaced.

Under the newly launched Earthic product brand, H.B. Fuller unveiled the Earthic 9010E, a circular hotmelt PSA designed for labels. This adhesive is a nearly zero CO2 pressure-sensitive adhesive, contributing to a reduction in the overall carbon footprint of operations while meeting the demanding requirements of packaging applications. Swiftmelt Earthic 9010E delivers excellent performance on a wide range of substrates, exhibits strong adhesion even at low temperatures, and is made from 80% fossil-free adhesive components.

These innovative products and solutions empower customers to achieve design innovation, superior product performance, brand differentiation, and expedited manufacturing processes. H.B. Fuller’s customization capabilities further enable them to address specific business needs and align with industry demands, advancing the transition towards a more circular economy.
