Komori India inks eleven GL 37 offset press deals at PrintPack India 2019

-

At PrintPack India 2019, Komori India demonstrated two machines – the newly launched GL 437 plus online coater with an automatic application and Enthrone 29. The presentation of GL 437 C press was prepared to cater to the growing demand for packaging and printing customers in the market with better quality and enhanced productivity. Since the launch, it has become popular with its compact design, flexibility and suitability.

The second offset press demonstrated was Enthrone 29, the best seller in the Indian market. “This press philosophy was designed to fulfill the dreams of printers who for the first time will buy their first brand new press. Reason being Indian market thrives on multiple pre-owned used machines. This Komori offset press will empower this new printer fraternity/generation to increase their business. The live demo has instilled that confidence that Komori can make their dream come true,” said Sangam Khanna of Komori India.

It was Komori India’s first ever PrintPack as an independent entity. It may be recalled that earlier in 2018, Komori Corporation acquired its India representative, Insight Print Communication, and started its Indian subsidiary to represent the south Asia market. Komori India now represents Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and East Africa with an aim to provide better leadership to this market.

“PrintPack 2019 has a great importance for Komori. The sole purpose of participating at the exhibition is to make sure that printers in the region know that we are here. We want to spread the message that Komori Team management will have a direct contact with his growing Indian market and across the border,” added Khanna.

Komori’s chairman and CEO Yoshiharu Komori, on his visit to PrintPack India, said,“This helps me take a better feel of the Indian market. I am pretty excited to meet new customers here at the show. I want to see the prospect the Indian market has to offer us.”

The six-day event pulled a crowd of about 5,000 to the Komori stand. Total twenty demos were being run during the six days of the exhibition. Mr Komori press started the GL 37 C for the demonstrations. “The reactions from the printers were encouraging and PrintPack 2019 has really left a good impression that coming years will be promising for the brand Komori,” said Khanna.

Eleven GL 437 deals
Komori India clinched eleven GL 37 offset press deals at the PrintPack India 2019 exhibition. Wafa Abbas, director of Amber Press, who invested in two GL 437 presses, said, “Being an existing customer of Komori, we were aware of the technology and after-sale services. We have multiple pre-owned printing presses and wanted to retire them with two new presses. Both the machines will be installed within the next two months.”

Meanwhile, Surat-based Metro Plus picked the GL 437 plus online coater that was being displayed at the exhibition. Birju Talati of Metro Plus said, “This is our first new printing press and we are expecting to double our production from 25-tonne to 50-tonne per month. All of our existing pre-owned printing presses are from Komori and we have hands-on experience on the machines.”

Hirofumi Hoshino, managing director Komori India, said, “I am quite optimistic about the Indian market. We have put a good show, got lot of good inquiries from the show and looking forward to educate the market about our services. Ever since we have come to India, I must say that our Indian operations are getting organized with each passing day. The Indian market is full of potential and we are here to explore it to the best of our abilities.”
