IEC+ launches new Plusmill Evo

-

IEC+, a leading mechanical engineering company specializing in process equipment for dispersion, grinding, and mixing, has unveiled the latest evolution of their Plusmill. Marketed as the Plusmill Evo, this innovative system integrates pigment dispersion and milling into a single unit. Designed to meet both current and future demands of the ink and coating industry, the Plusmill Evo is said to streamline manufacturing by minimizing waste, time, and contamination, while enhancing efficiency and mitigating health and financial risks.

“As the global industry’s requirements evolve, manufacturing processes need to adhere to exceptional control and cleanliness standards. However, traditional methods hinder productivity and compromise quality, this highlights the necessity for advanced solutions as technology advances our mission is to revolutionize crucial production processes by providing a simpler approach that enhances efficiency and quality in pigment manufacturing. That’s why we have enhanced our already popular Plusmill with the new Plusmill Evo,” explained Gianluca Incerti, head of strategic sales at IEC+ and Tecnopails.

The Plusmill Evo is said to set new benchmarks in pigment processing, providing precise control over dispersion and milling parameters to deliver enhanced color strength, consistency, and stability. IEC+ spent several months refining the system to improve efficiency and reliability, creating a more comprehensive, cleaner, and safer working environment. Rigorous comparative testing indicated an approximate 70% reduction in processing time for specific tasks.

The Plusmill Evo introduces additional innovations, including the integration of Cowles Impeller Technology, which is said to enhance dispersion efficiency by ensuring thorough mixing of pigment particles with the liquid medium. This reportedly results in uniform particle distribution and optimized color development, regardless of industry standards. The new compact design aims to minimize accident risks and protect operators from exposure to moving components, contributing to a safer and more spacious work environment. Additionally, an integrated control system is claimed to fine-tune key parameters, such as particle size, to adjust the milling process for desired outcomes, while the Advanced Cooling System helps maintain optimal operating temperatures, preserving the integrity of the pigment dispersion.

“In essence, the Plusmill Evo accelerates operations, streamlines manufacturing processes, reduces the need for multiple machines and cuts down setup and retooling times. Users can anticipate significant time-saving advantages and a rapid return on investment, with tangible benefits achievable within just 18 months of implementation,” concluded Incerti. “When considering enhanced output, superior product quality, and decreased operational costs, the Plusmill Evo transcends being a mere investment – it stands as a strategic choice poised to yield dividends for years to come.”

IEC+, which joined IM Group (formerly Inkmaker Group) in late 2021, specialises in the design and production of customized automated systems for dosing, sealing and labelling for ink, paint and chemical containers. Together with the Tecnopails filling-line division, it forms IM Group’s Filling, Mixing and Grinding business unit.
