Herma awarded second-best grade by CDP

-

Herma has been awareded the second-best grade ‘B’ in the area of climate protection by CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), a global non-profit organization for environmental and climate protection reporting. This puts the company, which specializes in packaging and labeling technology and has its headquarters in Filderstadt, among the some 20,000 companies worldwide that were assessed by CDP in 2025.

CDP is said to maintain the largest database for environmental data and applies strict and independent methodology to assess the quality of data disclosure, risk awareness, environmental management, and proof of best practices. The ratings range from A to D, with A being the top grade. Worldwide, the CDP rating system is often used by procurement teams, among others, to achieve further progress towards net-zero emissions for their companies.

Carbon footprint verified by Dekra

“The CDP rating with the ‘Good’ grade confirms our consistent approach to climate protection and the disclosure of relevant data,” said Marcus Gablowski, chief sustainability officer at Herma.
At the same time as the CDP rating, verification of Herma’s carbon footprint was carried out by Dekra. “This independent verification of the carbon footprint once again underlines the reliability of the data collected. The ‘Good’ CDP result is above all also thanks to the strong commitment of all those involved internally.” Elise Keuler from sustainability management also emphasized the benefit for the company, “Transparency in matters related to environment and climate protection has now become a key success factor, because more and more customers place value on sustainable and responsible procurement. Herma consciously meets these requirements – not least because we see them as a clear competitive advantage.”

According to Herma, this is confirmed, for example, by the technology group Bosch, in whose procurement the CDP rating plays a key role in the selection and further development of suppliers. “The independent assessment by CDP shows that Herma approaches climate protection in a very structured and target-oriented manner. Receiving the grade ‘B’ right at the first attempt is a result that we are very proud of and that we can use to position ourselves accordingly in the industry,” said Elise Keuler.
