Hayssen introduces VERUS intermittent VFFS machine

The VERUS’ standard features include a robust, hygienic design that is suitable for harsh/wet environments

Hayssen Flexible Systems, a Barry-Wehmiller company, has released its VERUS intermittent vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machine. Featuring an advanced sanitary design, the VERUS combines proven state-of-the-art technology and valuable customer-driven features to efficiently produce a wide range of bag formats, sizes and shapes.

The VERUS’ standard features include a robust, hygienic design that is suitable for harsh/wet environments. Constructed in stainless steel and aluminum, the bagger’s fully welded stainless-steel base frame includes sanitary feet with no exposed threads. A sloping top on the electrical cabinet prevents water pooling, and a top tray protects the film path from overhead contamination. Also standard on the VERUS are the IP65 electrical cabinet and HMI enclosure, as well as the acrylic or laser-cut stainless-steel front guards.

Other customer benefits include quick bag-format changeovers, and a high-speed, high-precision servo-motor-driven jaw actuation that can achieve speeds of up to 110 bags per minute. The versatile VERUS also offers flexibility with stand-up bag styles and a range of sealing for poly and/or heat-seal materials.“This project was a direct result of customer needs,” said Dan Minor, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Hayssen. “We’ve seen the need for a hygienic yet dynamic system for many of our fresh and frozen food customers. Our team invested in this project, and we trust this meets customer needs in a meaningful way. It’s about listening and building trust, so customers know they can rely on us.”

Hayssen is one of a number of Barry-Wehmiller businesses represented in BW Packaging Solutions. Through their diverse capabilities, these companies can collectively provide everything from a single piece of equipment to fully integrated, tailor-made packaging line solutions for a wide range of industries, including: food and beverage, personal care, container manufacturing, pharmaceutical and medical devices, household products, paper products and textiles, industrial and automotive, and converting, printing and publishing.
