ERA opens 2017 Packaging and Decorative Gravure Award competition

-

The European Rotogravure Association (ERA) has made a call for entries to this year’s Packaging and Decorative Gravure Award program. The 2017 ERA Packaging and Decorative Gravure Award gives the opportunity to all participants in the production chain to show gravure quality in packaging and decorative printing. The competition is open to both members and non-members of ERA, from anywhere in the world.

The categories are:

  • Flexible packaging, subdivided into substrate types (paper, film, foil, laminates)
  • Shrinkwrap sleeves
  • Labels
  • Cartonboard
  • Decorative base paper for laminate flooring and furniture
  • Wallpaper
  • Gift wrap
  • Specialty, security and ‘intelligent’ printing, including printed electronics
  • Innovation prize for technical developments and new fields of application

In addition, there will be a prize for the best entry from a company which has never entered the award program before, and a prize for the best use of a PDF-based workflow. Entries may be made by any partner in the production chain, while the innovation prize is also open to suppliers of equipment, materials, software, etc. The closing date for entries is August 21. Full details and application forms are available from the ERA website.

2017 ERA Packaging and Decorative Gravure Award prizes will be presented at the 2017 ERA Packaging and Decorative Conference, to be held 7-8 November in Barcelona.
