Epson to showcase on-demand color labeling and thermal printing solutions at Foodpro 2026

-

Epson will demonstrate its on-demand color labeling and thermal receipt printing solutions at Foodpro 2026, a food and beverage manufacturing trade event in Australia. At stand AJ18 in the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, the company will show how its printers are designed to help food producers reduce packaging costs and waste while meeting compliance requirements.

At Foodpro, Epson’s stand will demonstrate how food manufacturers can bring label production in-house, reduce changeover times, and respond to market trends without committing to large minimum order quantities from external print suppliers.

The ColorWorks CW-C4010 is a compact 4-inch desktop color label printer built around Epson’s PrecisionCore TFP printhead technology. It uses pigment-based DURABrite ink at resolutions up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, producing labels the company said are resistant to water, smudging and fading, which it noted is relevant for refrigerated and wet food production environments.

For food manufacturers, the CW-C4010 is designed to support labeling at the point of packing. Allergen warnings, ingredient changes, nutritional updates and date codes can be applied during packing rather than ordered in advance. The printer handles plain paper, matte stock, synthetic labels and glossy films, allowing producers to match label material to pack type without changing hardware. It has a 2.7-inch color display and a nine-key control panel, and uses individual CMYK cartridges that are replaced only as they deplete.

The ColorWorks CW-C6510A extends Epson’s on-demand color technology to an 8-inch print width, intended for large primary labels, outer-case identification, bulk nutritional declarations and promotional branding on larger pack formats. Like the CW-C4010, it uses PrecisionCore TFP printheads and DURABrite pigment inks at 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution.

A built-in auto-cutter handles die-cut and continuous media up to 215.9 mm wide, supporting roll-fed and fanfold stock for integration with automated packing lines. The company said the printer’s feeding mechanism is rated for 150 km before major service.

For export-oriented producers, the CW-C6510A is designed to print labels in multiple languages, including English, Mandarin, Arabic or Japanese, from the same media roll, which the company said can reduce inventory carrying costs and the risk of write-offs when export orders change.

The TM-L100 is a compact thermal printer for liner-free label and receipt applications, measuring 140 x 148 x 207 mm and weighing 1.9 kg. Epson said its size allows it to fit in spaces such as packing benches, commercial kitchens or beside processing equipment.

Liner-free labels do not use the silicone-coated backing paper associated with label waste in food manufacturing. According to the company, the absence of backing paper and adhesive contamination supports sustainability goals while reducing floor-level waste and disposal costs. In allergen-segregated environments, the ability to print ingredient or allergen labels on demand from a single media roll is also intended to reduce the risk of cross-contamination from pre-printed label stock.

The TM-L100 prints at 170 mm per second on liner-free label and standard thermal receipt media, with a stated mean time between failures of 360,000 hours. Epson positions liner-free technology as a measure that can support plastic-reduction and carbon-footprint goals for food producers.

The TM-m30III is a cube-format thermal receipt printer measuring 127 mm on each side and weighing 1.3 kg. It prints at up to 300 mm per second and supports 80 mm and 58 mm paper widths with automatic width detection. Connectivity options include Ethernet, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, allowing integration with existing networked point-of-sale or production-management systems.

For food manufacturers and food-service operators, the TM-m30III is intended to support communication between front-of-house and production areas. Kitchen order tickets, production-job dockets, dispatch confirmations and customer receipts can be printed to reduce errors associated with verbal or handwritten orders. Support for QR codes, Data Matrix and GS1-128 barcodes allows the printer to output traceability labels, batch tickets and logistics documentation that can integrate with ERP and WMS platforms.

The printer includes a front-facing status LED for operational feedback and a drop-in paper loading mechanism intended to support faster changeovers during peak production periods. Epson said its printers are designed with industrial connectivity standards, REST APIs and label-design software that integrate with MES, ERP and WMS systems, allowing labels, receipts and dockets to be generated automatically from production data.
