Indian packaging specialist Canpac Trends continues its dynamic growth trajectory unabated and is stepping up its close partnership with Koenig & Bauer. By signing the contract for a new Rapida 106, the company is investing in its tenth sheetfed offset press from the German manufacturer within ten years. The 7-color press with coating tower and complete UV package will be installed at the Tirupur plant. As part of the capacity expansion, the press currently operating there will be relocated to another site.

“Ten Rapida presses in ten years is a true reflection of Canpac’s confidence in the performance, reliability and return on investment of Koenig & Bauer presses. We are immensely grateful to all at Canpac for their continued trust in Koenig & Bauer and Indo Polygraph Machinery. We look forward to many more milestones together,” explained Aditya Surana, managing director of Indo Polygraphy Machinery, Koenig & Bauer’s sales and service partner in India.

Scaling to 12 sites in the coming quarter

Since its first Rapida investment in 2017, Canpac Trends has grown into one of India’s fastest-growing packaging manufacturers. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Ahmedabad, the company serves more than 600 global and regional brands with tailored packaging – including folding cartons, corrugated boxes, paper bags and flexible laminates. In the upcoming quarter, Canpac is expanding its production network, which already includes plants in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Tirupur, Kolkata, New Delhi and Silvassa, to a total of 12 sites.

Infrastructure for fast-moving consumer goods markets

To meet the rising demands of eCommerce, quick-commerce and FMCG customers, Canpac relies on a decentralized manufacturing infrastructure that now spans over 1.35 million square meters of production space. With its in-house innovation center BIRD (Bank of Innovation, Research & Development), the company is also driving paper-based packaging solutions forward. The close regional connection of its locations significantly shortens logistics chains and guarantees brand owners maximum flexibility alongside fast time-to-market.

Trust in Koenig & Bauer’s printing technology and service team forms the technological backbone of this rapid expansion. Raag Todi, director of Canpac Trends, explained, “We simply focus on doing the right thing – without fear, without greed, without emotion. Our entire team is aligned towards a single goal – the right product, the right price, the right service. We are well on our way to touching the lives of 500 million people.”

Koenig & Bauer as part of the success story

Koenig & Bauer continuously accompanies Canpac’s success story as a technical partner. The high reliability, reproducibility and efficiency of the Rapida platforms enable the Indian packaging giant to keep its quality promises to customers across the country and tap into new market segments.

Nilesh Todi, managing director of Canpac Trends added, “Canpac has complete trust in Koenig & Bauer – both the press and the team at Indo Polygraph Machinery. It has been a fabulous journey and experience over the last 10 years, and Koenig & Bauer has played a vital role in our growth.”
