BST India unveiled a suite of groundbreaking solutions at drupa 2024 designed to revolutionize manufacturers’ production processes. Prioritizing user-centric design, these innovations promise enhanced efficiency, improved print quality, and minimized waste. Among the highlighted offerings were digitally networked web guiding and register control systems, along with advanced web monitoring and inspection technologies. These innovations, including the comprehensive SMARTData tool for centralized operation and optimization, were showcased at the BST stand C21 in Hall 10.

SMARTData

SMARTData by BST introduces a comprehensive software solution aimed at elevating quality in web processing, streamlining workflows, and enhancing reporting accuracy. “By automating job data input directly from ERP, MIS systems, or prepress, SMARTData saves time and reduces error susceptibility. Furthermore, it synchronizes data across processes via a modern RESTful API, ensuring precise error control and prevention. SMARTData seamlessly integrates with numerous BST systems for effortless implementation,” said Khushal Patel of BST eltromat India.

SMARTData-Enabled Register Control

BST’s regi_star 20, a leading register control system for various printing processes, can now be seamlessly integrated into customer environments with SMARTData. This integration facilitates efficient job processing by directly loading jobs from prepress into BST systems. The accompanying process data aids optimization efforts, minimizing waste.

In addition, BST introduced a new UV sensor to expand its RSH sensor family within the regi_star 20. Designed to detect and scan UV coatings, this sensor accelerates the printing setup process, ensuring precise register control throughout production. This enhancement contributes to waste reduction, time savings, and improved quality.

In addition to regi_star 20, the TWINStar register control system was also showcased at drupa, offering versatility in controlling various printing units and finishing stations.

Innovative web guiding systems

“BST’s web guiding systems ensure material alignment, minimizing waste and downtime. The new Commander SMART COM 100 introduces a streamlined operating concept, allowing both sensor and control unit operation from a single point. This system, featuring advanced sensor technology, enhances control accuracy,” Patel said.

BST also presented its reliable web guiding systems, FRAMEGuide and COMPACTGuide, equipped with SMARTData interfaces for enhanced functionality.

Enhanced inspection systems

BST enhances its iPQ-View web inspection system with cutting-edge CMOS sensor technology and energy-efficient LEDs, reducing housing size for improved flexibility in installation. The PROView web monitoring system offers a cost-effective solution for reliable print image monitoring at high speeds.

Ai-powered inspection solutions

iPQ-Check from BST offers intelligent quality management across various printing materials. Its integration with SMARTData streamlines setup and enhances inspection efficiency. The new iPQ-Check Digital inspection system, designed for digital printing, offers operator-free setup, automatic job changeover, and precise defect classification using AI.

Complete workflow print inspection

The TubeScan print inspection system, coupled with SMARTData QLink, automates label printing from prepress to packaging. QLink facilitates real-time roll management, error rectification, and automation of subsequent processing stages, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. With QLink data accessible to the Quality Management department, BST TubeScan ensures security and efficiency in demanding orders.
