Barcelona Packaging Hub has a new associate: Movitec and a new technological partner: Copa-data. Lucas Palma, director of Barcelona Packaging Hub, said, “It is always a pleasure to announce that the Hub family is growing. This time we have a new associate and a new partner that will allow us to offer better packaging solutions to our customers.”

Movitec is a company that is now part of the Hub as a partner and is a specialist in stretch film rotary ring pallet wrapping machines. They specialize in different sectors such as agriculture and fertilizers; food; animal feed; beverages; construction; logistics and distribution; paper, cardboard and cellulose; and also in the chemical, pharmaceutical and perfumery sectors. The company stands out for its service, offering preventive and corrective maintenance; an online diagnosis service; optimization of ring wrapping machines; updating and reconditioning of machines; spare parts kits with all the necessary components to avoid production line stoppages; and training.

Recently, they opened their first subsidiary in the United States, making their growth forecasts a reality.

Copa-data is a company specialized in industrial software for production and energy automation. They have accumulated experience with HMI and SCADA and work for sectors such as the pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries, among others. Regulatory compliance and data integrity are challenges for automation in the pharmaceutical industry. Zenon, as the software platform they propose is called, offers batch control, production systems, continuously advanced HMI options for machine builders and software solutions among others.

For the food industry, Copa-Data’s solution supports competitiveness, quality and flexibility in this industry and stands out for its comprehensive line management, modern process control and monitoring in breweries, and plant information management for a comparative view of distributed locations.

Barcelona Packaging Hub aims to bring together leading manufacturers of packaging machinery and technology in order to offer global solutions for packaging projects to companies around the world. Thanks to the companies that are interested in joining the Hub, the organization can expand the production line by offering better and more advanced solutions to customer needs.

The Hub is currently made up of several manufacturers in the sector: Effytec, INVPack, Mengibar, Synchropack, United Barcode Systems, Volpak, Xolertic and the recently incorporated Movitec.
