AVT makes operator tutorial library free for all customers

-

AVT, a leader in print inspection technology, has made its full library of self-paced operator tutorials available free of charge to every customer, for every operator on their team. The offer opened recently, and the company reports that take-up has been immediate, with customers across regions and system types moving quickly to secure access for their teams.

According to the company, an AVT system’s performance depends on the operator running it, and turnover on a production floor – new hires, departing veterans, team expansions and shift rotations – can erode the value of a system that was originally installed, configured and optimized, not because the technology changes but because institutional knowledge does.

AVT’s library of more than 25 self-paced tutorials, built for its products including AVT 100% Inspection for packaging and labels, inline color measurement, workflow solutions and various optional modules and features, is now open to every customer at every level, at any time, whether a new hire or a ten-year veteran. Each tutorial includes knowledge checks, a final exam and automatic certification on completion.

The company said the intended payoff includes faster ramp-up for new operators, less downtime tied to under-trained teams, more consistent quality run to run, and systems performing closer to their intended capability, without requiring new hardware or a service call. Tutorials are available in English, Spanish, Italian, French and German, with additional languages planned.

“We invest enormous effort in building systems that deliver exceptional value,” said Roy Porat, chief executive officer, AVT. “But that value is only realized when the people operating those systems truly know what they’re capable of. Making sure of that is not a nice-to-have. It is our responsibility, and it’s one we are now backing with full, free access for every customer.”

The company said requests for access have come in from across its customer base within a short window of the announcement. The move follows AVT’s spare parts price reduction in late 2025, which the company frames as part of a broader shift in how it defines its role – not as a technology vendor, but as a long-term partner in customers’ success.

“Our job does not end when the system is installed,” said Tamar Freidman, chief operating officer, AVT. “It begins there. Every operator who masters their AVT system and every team that grows more independent result in a print run that performs better, and this is exactly what we are here for.”
