B&R Industrial Automation, the Machine Automation Division of ABB, has appointed Abhijeet Banerjee as sales director – India. Banerjee, who brings over 23 years of experience in industrial automation, will lead B&R India’s sales organization and play a key role in advancing the company’s growth strategy in the Indian market.

Banerjee has spent over two decades in the automation industry, with a strong focus on vertical market development in automotive, intralogistics, and other emerging sectors. His deep understanding of the Indian manufacturing ecosystem, combined with his ability to drive automation and digitalization, will be pivotal in strengthening B&R’s engagement across industries in the Indian market and delivering innovative solutions tailored to customer needs.

In his new role, Banerjee will be responsible for driving B&R India’s sales strategy – expanding market presence, strengthening customer relationships, and accelerating growth across key sectors. He will oversee the promotion of B&R’s comprehensive automation portfolio, which includes advanced motion control, machine vision, safety, robotics, and digitalization technologies. His appointment comes at a time when India’s manufacturing sector is undergoing rapid transformation, with automation playing a pivotal role in enhancing productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.
