Starting your label business…

A graduate from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, Ranesh Bajaj joined his family business of spare part manufacturing, Creed Engineers, in 1994, and helped the company to diversify to trading in global equipment for the graphics industry. Today, his company represents some of the best-known names – ABG, Lombardi, Pantec, Schober and the in-house brand Vinsak to name a few. Bajaj, who is also a consultant in the packaging field with a specialty in packaging optimization and brand protection, spoke with The Packman recently about things related to starting a label business, viability of a commercial/offset printer in diversifying to label business, important aspects to be kept in mind while diversifying, challenges faced by an outsider (someone with no printing background) in starting a label business compared to an offset printer, and many other interesting things.
