Italian label producer Novarex has installed a Screen Truepress label 350UV SAI S inkjet printer at its Venice facility.
The digital press was selected for its ability to print on thermal papers, a key substrate for Novarex’s existing clients and markets, as well as its print quality, reliability and digital primer capability for an extended color gamut.
“While Novarex is an established business with extensive experience in label printing, we now have the energy, drive, and ambitions of a young, hungry start-up,” said Novarex partner Giacomo Bergamin. “We’re pursuing new clients, new markets, and see great potential for growth in the coming years, and we knew we needed to modernise our label production processes to do that. That is what lead us to Screen’s Truepress Label digital printing equipment.”
Novarex enters digital printing with Screen
Until now, Novarex specialized in high-volume production of medium-quality flexo labels for the food and logistics sectors.
Giacomo said, “Clients are increasingly requesting smaller individual batches of Labels with better print quality and faster turnaround times. It was clear, digital printing is essential for meeting these demands and continuing to grow our business.”
“The new digital press from Screen gives us the same flexo printing quality we’re used to, but now with digital flexibility,” Giacomo said. “Among all the solutions we tested, it produced the best print results on thermal papers, while we appreciate the additional digital primer’s ability to support a more vibrant color gamut and being fully regulatory compliant.”
Investing in future-proof digital printing
Ettore Maretti, managing director at REM srl, said, “Our relationship with Screen is built on a shared belief in mutual success for all parties. We use our expertise of the local market to find the right screen solution that label converters like Novarex need – not what’s easiest to sell. That strong foundation is how you build real, long-term success.”
Looking ahead, Novarex plans to leverage its new digital printing capabilities to expand into new market segments, including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and small-batch label production, while continuing to serve its existing customers in food and logistics.
“We’re hungry, ambitious,” said Giacomo, “and Screen was the right partner to ensure a successful entry into digital printing. This investment is a crucial step in being prepared for the future of label production and delivering the products our clients need and consumers expect.”
