New Label Society comes up in India

-

Association of Label Printers and Suppliers (ALPS) is now a new Label Society that has been set up to represent all the stakeholders in the Label industry in the Indian region. The association prides itself in treating all stakeholders on an equal platform thus ensuring an honest, democratic and co-operational method of operation.

Within a short span of 4 weeks, the membership count has crossed 160 members from the Label industry and the number is expected to reach 300 by end March 2017. An initial getogether was held in Delhi in December 2016 which was followed by a couple of regional meetings that have been held in Chennai and Bangalore. The meeting in Hyderabad is planned in March.

On 4 March, a large scale ‘Holi Milan’ as well as the ‘Founders day’ was organized at Delhi at the Terrace of South Hall Café, Janpath. The meeting was planned as the first national level event and an estimated 100 companies and a total of 150 members have registered for the same. A total of 148 persons attended the event with more than 80 printing companies, suppliers, the media and supporting organizations including AIDC and ASPA.

The official website of the new label association, http://alpsindia.org/, was also formally inaugurated at the event.

Prior to the evening event, the organizing committee of ALPS met to discuss the future actions and events of the organization. While the core committee has been created with the industry doyen Gururaj Ballarwad being announced as the President , Ajay Agarwal as Vice President, Arunesh Bansal as Secretary and Ashish Gupta as treasurer, the meeting has worked on announcing the rest of the management committee, as well as focussed sub-committees which will each address and work on a focussed part of the issues plaguing the industry. A list of these sub committee’s and their members will be put up on the newly created website alpsindia.org and the media is welcome to access the same to keep themselves.

“ALPS is a new endeavor as a label association and we are very happy and excited about the same. We hope that with the whole hearted support of the industry, it will be able to work with various trade bodies, government departments, suppliers and all other stake holders of the label industry to ensure an excellent growth of the industry,” said Ballaward.
