Mumbai-headquartered Unique Photo Offset Services has installed a brand new Omet X4 8-color label press. The company already had two Omet label presses and has reaffirmed its faith in the brand by investing in yet another Omet label press.

The new Omet X4 8-color label press installed at Unique is a 370 mm wide press with all UV, chill drums, two corona treaters – one before and one after printing before rewinding so that any variable data that needs to be overprinted can be done offline – a both side electrostatic web cleaner, web turn-bar, delam-relam, one diecutting station, two rewinders, cold foiling option and fully automatic registration control.

Gautam Nerker of Unique Photo Offset Services said, “Our experience with Omet has been very good. It has helped us service the labels and shrink sleeves market with ease and efficiency. It is a reliable equipment that has helped us grow. We are happy with the performance of the machine, after-sales support and the highly capable team present in India.”

Now led by Gautam Nerker, Unique was founded by RV Nerker in 1960 as a prepress house for high quality digital imaging. Later, Ashok Nerker – RV Nerker’s son – took over the reign of the company and diversified to digital flexo prepress and later to flexo printing and offset printing. It is now the 3rd generation at Unique running the company.

The sale of the Omet X4 was handled by Omet’s agent in India – Weldon Celloplast. Established in 1982. Weldon is a total solutions supplier to the label industry representing some of the leading global brands offering label presses, digital presses, tooling, inspection systems, allied consumables and equipment. Harveer Sahni, chairman Weldon Celloplast, said, “Unique is a highly consistent quality printer with inherent strength in high quality prepress. Weldon is proud to have them as its customer.”

Omet is a fast growing family-owned group of five companies with manufacturing plants in Italy and over 300 employees. In more than 55 years of its existence, Omet has installed machines in more than 100 countries, supplying innovative and customized solutions to leading printers. The Packaging Printing Machines business unit of Omet is located in Lecco, Italy, 50 km north of Milan.
