[dropcaps style=’2′]The recently concluded Pamex 2017 exhibition in Mumbai was a successful event for Konica Minolta. The company displayed its range of software solutions including software for pressroom and postpress. On the prepress front, the company displayed its device management, job management, web-to-print and imposition applications under the Accurio brand. On the pressroom front, visitors witnessed digital laser devices, including the newly launched Accurio press C6100. The Accurio C6100 was launched in November 2017 in India and it was for the first time the new press was displayed at the exhibition for the public.[/dropcaps]

On the postpress front, Konica Minolta displayed its MGI Jet Varnish 3DS for digital spot and foiling. “This machine is exclusively for short run digital printing,” said Manish Gupta, DGM PP and IP marketing, Konica Minolta India. “However, people can use this machine for packaging as well because of the paper format. It prints up to 13 x 51 inches format.”

Gupta informed that MGI is already a very successful model for Konica Minolta. “MGI is always in the news and attracts a huge crowd whenever we display it at various trade shows. We have twelve MGI installs in India so far, while a couple of more installs are coming up before the end of this financial year,” added Gupta. “In postpress, we have a lot of MGI device options – MGI comes in different paper weight and different options. So we have a complete range of those devices.”

Konica Minolta’s industrial printing journey in India so far has been very good according to Gupta. “In last one year, we have installed a couple of MGIs, KM1s and roll-to-roll presses, and hopefully by the end of this financial year, we should have a good number of installs in press as well as postpress machines in the industrial printing segment. Despite being new to this segment, we have built a strong team of experienced professionals from the industry. Our journey initially was tough because we were new to this segment, and for every query from customers, we had to depend on our team in Japan. However, over the period of time, our team in India has matured and become capable of handling most of these queries.”

“We are overwhelmed and grateful to Pamex 2017 team for providing us with an opportunity to demonstrate our trendsetting lineup of digital printing solutions. The response we have garnered in the 4-day event is positive and it further cements our position in the competitive and lucrative printing industry of India,” added Yoshinori Koide, director business strategy and project management, Konica Minolta India.
