Jindal Films America adds polyester films to portfolio

-

Jindal Films Americas (JFA), an industry leader in the development and manufacture of high performance films for flexible packaging and labeling, and making inroads into the technical films segment, announced that the organization has initiated planning activities to expand the product offering to include polyester films.

The new polyester capabilities will be located at the Americas headquarters in LaGrange, GA with a start-up expected for early 2019. The planned polyester plant is positioned to have capacity for 65,000 metric tons of film. Preliminary estimates of the investment for this project are $120 million USD. The plant would be composed of two lines, enabling Jindal Films to provide a product offering of both thin specialty and thick specialty films.

“We are very excited to introduce the plans to expand our capabilities into polyester film in the Americas,” said Marcelo Passos, Executive Vice President and CEO of Jindal Films Americas.

As Jindal Films Americas initiates the plans to expand into polyester films, Jindal Films Europe is considering a similar expansion in its region. This announcement comes on the heels of the unveiling of the new metallizer in LaGrange, a capability which is part of the previously announced relocation and expansion of the Georgia facilities. This current expansion project is expected to be completed by first quarter 2018, doubling the current capacity of the Americas division of Jindal Films. Jindal Films is committed to the flexible packaging and labeling industries.
