Flexibiz ERP to show loom management module for woven sacks at PackPlus

Kiran Consultants recently implemented its FlexiBiz ERP at six woven sacks manufacturing plants across India. “Since woven sacks has a high number of circular looms – which may be between 45 (supported by 1 tape line) and 600 looms (supported by multiple tape lines) at times, we were faced by the challenge to monitor the hourly or shift-wise progress of fabric on each loom,” said Gaurav Bansal of Kiran Consultants.

The actual production is entered in the ERP only when the complete fabric roll is produced and weighment is done. As the fabric rolls, specially for export jobs, are big and its production takes a complete day or more, the efficiency of loom or operator was not known until now. Plus, the looms are fixed and keep running for months for production of particular fabric. And if there is a requirement of new fabric type, there is a need to identify which looms can be utilized for this and the current status of already running fabrics on the various circular looms. “With the loom module being implemented, our clients can now know the running status of the fabric,” said Bansal. “This module is well integrated with the ERP.

“We can now easily figure out the problems and the best talent we have. To elaborate, it helps to identify fabric production target against actual achieved loom-wise, incentive to the operators for excess fabric production, fabric running status, requirement to schedule the looms for want of a particular fabric,” said Mahesh Purohit, director, Marudhara Polypack. The company implemented FlexiBiz ERP at its plant recently.

The software has also made data entry simpler. The operator has a hand-held tablet and reads the data after every two hours, and note the reading of the fabric production from the circular looms. With this, the system is able to generate MIS reports such as shift plan versus deviations, and loom trend analysis.

Bansal concluded, “We invite you all to visit us at PackPlus Hall 12 Stand 9 to know more about our solutions. Our software is suitable for all segments engaged in flexibles packaging, lamitubes, blown film, labels, woven sacks, retort pouches, shrink sleeves and more.” PackPlus exhibition is at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 25 to 28 July 2018.
