The future of packaging is the subject of heated discussions in all parts of the Earth. The world is curious about what innovations in the field of metal packaging will be presented at Messe Essen from May 5 to 9, 2020. Then, Metpack will take place for the tenth time. Every three years, the world’s leading fair draws top-class exhibitors into the Ruhr metropolis. They use the trade fair in order to introduce their innovations for the manufacture, refinement and recycling of metal packaging to an international trade public. Still until May 31, 2019, any interested parties can snap up booths at the most important sectoral event of the year. In addition, registered companies have the possibility of taking part in the Metpack Innovation Award.

On the occasion of the past Metpack in 2017, around 90% of the exhibitors stated that they would again be involved in the next edition too. A quarter of them are even planning to extend their booth areas for Metpack 2020. “The figures speak for themselves. Metpack is on course for success. It is the most important fair dedicated exclusively to packaging made of metal. Nowhere else do the manufacturers of metal packaging machines encounter their target groups in such an exactly fitting way,” said Christina Kleinpaß, head of project for Metpack. “The global players have already registered. These include, for example, ArcelorMittal, CanMan, CMC Kuhnke, Gebr. Leonhard, Hinterkopf, Lanico, Roeslein, Salchi Metalcoat and Tata Steel,” continued Kleinpaß.

Metpack Innovation Award
Metpack is also the platform for the presentation of the Metpack Innovation Award. All the exhibitors are being invited to submit their innovations introduced at the fair and to have them assessed by a jury of experts. The winners in the Gold, Silver and Bronze categories will be announced on 6 May. The Metpack Innovation Award is regarded as a worldwide seal of quality for innovative metal packaging technology and is the only one of its kind.
