THE PACKMAN

PulPac and Lakrids By Bülow collaborate to develop sustainable packaging solutions

PulPac, a leading provider of innovative packaging technology, and the Danish premium confectionery brand, Lakrids By Bülow, announce their collaboration on the development of future Dry Molded Fiber packaging applications.

Driven by a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation, PulPac and Lakrids By Bülow are joining forces to explore confectionery packaging alternatives based on PulPac’s pioneering Dry Molded Fiber technology. Design studio Office of Possibilities (OP) is engaged in collaboration to turn innovative ideas into cutting-edge designs and perfect the customer experience.

Dry Molded Fiber, an innovative manufacturing technology for sustainable packaging production, uses renewable fibers sourced from responsibly managed forests. The technology is resource-efficient and cost-competitive and significantly reduces environmental impact compared to both plastic and other fiber-based alternatives.

Johan Bülow, Founder and Creative Director at Lakrids By Bülow, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “At Lakrids By Bülow we have a history of challenging the conventional and never accepting status quo – and sustainability is at the core of everything we do. Exploring innovative technologies for responsibly produced packaging aligns well with our values and sustainability commitment.”

Consumers increasingly prioritize sustainability in their purchasing decisions. With the collaboration, PulPac and Lakrids By Bülow aim to inspire this positive change and demonstrate the viability of eco-friendly packaging solutions in the premium confectionery industry, with high demands for design.

“We are thrilled to now drive sustainable packaging innovation in the high-end segment together with Lakrids By Bülow,” said Sanna Fager, chief commercial officer at PulPac. “By combining PulPac’s expertise in Dry Molded Fiber technology with OP’s design capabilities and Lakrids By Bülow’s passion for excellence, we hope to see concrete results of the collaboration in the near future.”
