At IndiaPlast 2019, Uflex’s Chemical Business highlighted its innovations in inks, coatings and adhesives. “Our focus is to help our customers get value for money in terms of reducing ink gsm, solvent, and overall consumption of inks,” said Rajesh Srivastava, vice president, Chemical Business, Uflex.

At the event, Chemical Business also launched one of the universal solvent-free adhesives, 777 A/C. “It is a unique and universal product that offers excellent performance on various substrates including plastics. The adhesive has an exceptional compatibility with NC-PU inks when mixed in the ratio of 1:1. With this adhesive, the advantage to a converter is that there is no different mixing ratio for a metallized film or a PE film,” said Srivastava. “We have also launched a PU ink which has high strength and low viscosity. The ink reduces solvent consumption to a drastic level.”

Meanwhile, the Chemical Business also showcased an environment friendly high-speed water-based sheetfed UV ink suitable for commercial and non-food packaging applications. Another mono component solvent-less adhesive, OC512, which is designed for laminating film to printed and unprinted board and paper was on the shelf too.

“As a part of our constant focus on innovation and R&D, we are continuously coming up with new products for the market which are green in nature, and saves energy and cost,” concluded Srivastava.
