The expansions in various facets such as flexible packaging, PET film manufacturing, aseptic packaging, chemicals, and aluminum foil have significantly fortified our operational capabilities, enabling us to more effectively meet the burgeoning demands of the market.

Arun Anand: In response to the ever-evolving landscape of the packaging industry, GLS Films remains at the forefront of innovation. Our commitment to sustainability and technological advancement stands out prominently. The recent adoption of water-based inks represents a paradigm shift towards eco-friendly practices, not only enhancing our operational efficiency but also ensuring compliance with rigorous industry standards, particularly in food-grade flexible packaging. Apart from this, we have also been able to successfully develop various laminate structures with HS Pet film (a unique product from GLS Group) and high-barrier metalized PE film.

Manash Das: What specific changes or initiatives have been undertaken by GLS to professionalize and structure itself?

Arun Anand: GLS Group has strategically concentrated efforts on professionalizing and fortifying our operational framework. A particular focus has been placed on infrastructure development and the cultivation of specialized expertise by introducing SAP integrity at group level for inter and intra-connectivity. Our chemical arm, Yansefu, exemplifies this dedication by spearheading the development of water-based inks, a testament to our dedication to reducing solvent consumption and adhering to the highest industry standards. We are a one-stop solution with close proximity to the industry.

Our commitment is reflected in various initiatives such as green infrastructure, rainwater harvesting, solar power utilization, zero liquid discharge plants, internal recycling of plastic waste, and the adoption of eco-friendly products like HS Pet, Met PE, Alox Pet, and the groundbreaking transition to water-based inks.

We have few upcoming projects such as recycle PET (PCR PET), transparent high-barrier coatings, monofamily structures and more.
