Toppan has been recognized for its disclosure and practices in the areas of climate change and water security with selection to the A List in both categories for consecutive years in the 2025 survey conducted by CDP, the international non-profit organization focused on environmental disclosure. Toppan has now been named to the A List for climate change for three successive years.
CDP is a global non-profit that surveys and assesses the efforts of businesses and subnational governments in relation to target setting, risk management, and disclosure on environmental issues. CDP’s annual assessment process is aligned with major environmental frameworks and disclosure standards and is renowned as a global standard for evaluating companies’ environment-related activities.
In 2025, 640 institutional investors with over USD 127 trillion in assets requested data on environmental impacts, risks, and opportunities through CDP’s platform, and more than 22,100 companies responded by providing disclosures.
In 2023, the theme of “Preserving biodiversity” was added to the Toppan Group Environmental Vision 2050 and new targets for biodiversity preservation and optimal water use were set in the TOPPAN group medium-and-long-term environmental targets for fiscal 2030.
In August 2024, Toppan received Net-Zero Target validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for the TOPPAN Group’s GHG emission reduction targets for the entire value chain, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. To achieve these ambitious targets, the Toppan Group is taking measures in collaboration with stakeholders.
Selection to the CDP A List in two categories demonstrates that the TOPPAN Group’s ongoing initiatives related to the environment are rated highly when assessed against international standards.
To address environmental challenges, such as decarbonization, biodiversity preservation, resource circulation, and optimal use of water resources, the Toppan Group has said it will intensify efforts geared towards environmental value creation as well as pursue transparent disclosure based on international standards to contribute to a sustainable society.
