At interpack 2026, Syntegon will unveil its new integrated frozen food line solution in a global premiere, combining the SVX Agile vertical bagger with the newly launched Elematic 4001 gravity case packer. With this launch, Syntegon expands its portfolio to include a fully integrated bagging and case packing solution for Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) products such as French fries, frozen vegetables, frozen fruit and frozen protein – delivering higher line efficiency, optimized case utilization, and one seamless control philosophy from primary to secondary packaging.
Frozen food packaging comes with specific challenges – products must be packed at high speed, remain at low temperatures, and be transported efficiently across the supply chain. At the same time, manufacturers are under pressure to reduce material usage and avoid shipping air – a key topic in light of current sustainability regulations and packaging reduction targets.
The new line solution addresses these requirements by seamlessly integrating the SVX Agile with the Elematic 4001 gravity case packer. While the SVX Agile forms, fills and seals high-performance pillow bags, the Elematic 4001 automatically loads them into RSC shipping cases using an optimized gravity-based drop mechanism.
Unlike traditional robotic pick-and-place systems, Elematic 4001 incorporates a two-level servo-controlled collation and drop station technology to release grouped bags directly into the carton. Prior to loading, the bags pass through a rumbling station that distributes the products inside the bags. The key advantage of this unique technology lies in the unmatched flexibility to pack various bag sizes, styles and packing patterns by ‘push of a button’.
“The objective is simple – reduce air and increase efficiency,” explains Espen Mile, head of product management. “In frozen food logistics, you want to maximize the number of bags per carton. Our gravity case packer is designed to help customers ship more product and less air.”
With infeed capacities of up to 120 bags per minute and loading up to 25 cases per minute, the Elematic 4001 is engineered for high-output IQF lines. The system initially launches with horizontal case loading, with an integrated horizontal and vertical loading variant to follow in the second half of 2026. This modular concept allows customers to select the configuration that best matches their regional logistics and market requirements.
While gravity case-packing technology exists in the market, competitors typically offer stand-alone case packers. Syntegon’s key differentiating factor lies in delivering complete line solutions from a single source. By combining SVX Agile and Elematic 4001 within one harmonized platform, customers benefit from seamless line integration, flawless interfaces, and a consistent operator experience. With our broad offering of service products, Syntegon supports the customers throughout the lifecycle of the equipment to ensure optimal output at a low operating cost.
“It’s about seamless integration and lifecycle partnership with our customers,” says Mile. “Customers don’t just need a bagger and a case packer – they need integrated line solutions. With one look, one feel, and one touchpoint across the entire system, operators can manage the complete line with minimum training effort and improved transparency, leading to reduced operational cost.”
Both machines feature Syntegon’s latest HMI generation, offering intuitive operation, enhanced performance monitoring and easier access to OEE data. The consistent control philosophy supports faster troubleshooting and contributes to higher overall equipment effectiveness.
By bringing primary and secondary packaging together within one synchronized architecture, Syntegon takes the next step from machine supplier to integrated line partner in the frozen food industry. The combination of SVX Agile and Elematic 4001 reflects a broader ambition: delivering measurable efficiency gains not only at machine level, but across the entire customer operations.
