RK Printers’ new plant in IMT Faridabad boasts environmentally friendly operations and is in line with their sustainability commitments. To move the needle on sustainability a step further, the company has also installed a 30 KW solar power plant and a rainwater harvesting plant.

RK Printers has recently moved to a new plant in IMT Faridabad. Founded in 1972 by three brothers – KS Malik, Rakesh Malik and Ramesh Malik – the company thrived and excelled in the industrial sector of Delhi’s Anand Parbat, conveniently located and accessible in those days.

Speaking about the new plant, second-generation and partner at RK Printers, Vikrant Malik said, “In addition to increasing the production capacity of our company, the prime focus behind the plant expansion was to implement an array of sustainable and environmentally focused initiatives for energy and resource conservation. We wanted to have a sustainable plant that minimizes environmental impact, and where we can lead the way for a socially conscious business. We have established our new plant in IMT Faridabad, an industrial region near Delhi because it has superior connectivity, better infrastructure, stronger industrial association and low electricity tariffs.” Malik shared that the company has also installed a 30 KW solar power plant and a rainwater harvesting plant at its premises.

The company currently converts over 1.5 million cartons every day. At the new plant in IMT Faridabad, two pre-owned Heidelberg 6-color plus coater presses, Bobst die-cutters and three brand new crash lock pasting machines from Boxtech are operational. Malik said that with these machines, they will be able to surpass the current production capacity of the company very soon.

RK Printers manufactures 6-color monocartons with UV coating, embossing, and raised UV aqueous coating. In addition, the company has also boosted its engagement with pharma, cosmetics, food and beverages segments where it supplies blister cards with HSL coating and PET coating (cosmetics segment); rigid boxes (luxury segment); labels and leaflets (agro); and danglers, paper pouches (pharma segment). The company also produces gift boxes during festivals, corrugated boxes for startups, and shipper boxes for exporters.

Malik said, “Unlike companies specializing in folding cartons, we want to distinguish ourselves as a different kind of box manufacturer with our specialty in adding the finishes and textures to printed packaging that attract end customers’ attention. After all, that makes the difference in selling a product.”

New corrugated plant and exports

Akshay Malik, another partner at RK Printers said, “We are in talks with a couple of manufacturers for our corrugated box plant. We want to export our products globally and especially to the European market. We now have a robust infrastructure required for exports.”

Sumit Malik, another partner at RK Printers added, “We have invested in the machinery, infrastructure and accessories to attain the certifications required for exports. However, when we started this journey two years ago, inevitable delays due to lockdown during the pandemic had impacted it adversely. But finally, the outcome of two years of passion and hard work paid off and it has been a satisfying experience for everyone at our company.”
