Mamata Machinery has launched a new recyclable packaging film technology called RecTech at Plastindia 2026, New Delhi, from 5 to 10 February 2026.
RecTech is a mono-material, fully recyclable flexible packaging film designed to deliver barrier and mechanical performance comparable to, and in some cases exceeding, that of conventional multi-material composite structures such as PET+PE and PET+MPET+PE, which are widely used in the flexible packaging industry.
According to the company, the new technology has been developed to address growing concerns around plastic waste management and to support compliance with India’s extended producer responsibility (EPR) requirements. Mamata Machinery stated that RecTech is engineered to reduce the cost differential between traditional composite films and recyclable alternatives, with the aim of accelerating adoption by brand owners and converters.
Alongside the new recyclable film technology, Mamata Machinery also showcased a fully integrated recyclable packaging ecosystem at the exhibition. This included 7-layer and 9-layer co-extrusion blown film plants, pouch-making machines, and horizontal and vertical form-fill-seal systems, all designed to process recyclable mono-material structures. The company noted that these systems are developed and manufactured in-house to enable end-to-end production of recyclable flexible packaging.
