Krones opened its new manufacturing plant in Vemagal, near Bangalore, on 19 August 2026, expanding its presence in India. The new site is intended to let the company support customers more closely and strengthen its position in what it describes as one of the world’s most important growth markets for the beverage, food and packaging industries.
India is playing an increasingly significant role for Krones, which is already represented in the country through several companies and centres of competence. With the new production facility, the company is adding another element to this network, describing it as a targeted investment in the future of the Indian market.
“India is one of the world’s most dynamic growth markets. With the opening of this facility, we are reaffirming Krones’ long-term commitment to the country and creating a platform for future growth, innovation and value creation. We see India as a strategic market and an important part of Krones’ global growth journey,” said Ralf Goldbrunner, member of the executive board of Krones.
Krones already operates several locations in India, including Krones India and Krones Digital Solutions India in Bangalore, Krones Processing India in Hyderabad, and System Logistics India in Mumbai. The new facility in Vemagal expands this footprint further and, according to the company, underscores its long-term commitment to the Indian market.
Investment in people and long-term growth
“The real significance of this facility lies not in its buildings, machinery or technology, but in the people, partnerships and shared commitment that made it possible. This achievement reflects the dedication of our teams and marks the beginning of the next chapter of the Krones story in India,” said Thomas Wolter, managing director of Krones Machinery India.
The company described the plant opening as another milestone in its development in India, saying the new facility lays the foundation for further growth while underlining its long-term commitment to a market it considers increasingly significant for the global beverage, food and packaging industries.
