KHS India builds Rs. 50-crore plant in Ahmedabad

KHS India, a market leader in sustainable and efficient filling and packaging systems and solutions, laid the foundation stone of its new Rs. 50 crore plant recently. The foundation stone of the new plant was laid in the presence of Kai Acker, CEO of KHS Global; Martin Resch, chairman of KHS India; Yatindra Sharma, MD of KHS India; Dr Johannes T Grobe, chief sales officer of KHS Global; and Beate Schäfer, CHRO of KHS Global.

KHS India is a leading provider of beverage technology projects to beverage industry giants like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Amul, Nestle, Parle, Daawat, Megha, Carlsberg, and Heineken, among others. It provides cutting-edge solutions in collaboration with its partner KHS Global, which has been serving the beverage industry globally for more than 150 years.

“KHS India will bring the most innovative technologies and technical know-how of KHS Global to India in the new plant. It is also developing a state-of-the-art digital technology center that will provide innovative digital solutions in technology training, after-sales service, project installation and commissioning,” said Martin Resch, chairman, KHS India.

“KHS is committed to providing state-of-the-art and world-class technology solutions that contribute to sustainability and energy savings. I am confident about the prospects of the beverage industry in India. The new plant will help us to cater better to the beverage industry,” said Kai Acker, CEO, KHS Global.

“Despite the global headwinds, India is among the fastest-growing major economies in the world. We at KHS are extremely optimistic about the growth of the Indian economy and the potential of the beverage market. The new plant is being set up with an investment of Rs. 50 crores. It will increase our production capacity by 40%, which will help us meet the future requirements of the beverage industry,” added Yatindra Sharma, MD, KHS India.

The new plant is coming up adjacent to KHS India’s existing plant in Ahmedabad. The new plant will create 150 direct and many more indirect job opportunities. The existing plant was inaugurated in 2007 by the then chief minister Narendra Modi.
