Jindal Films has displayed a range of print, barrier and sealing technologies at interpack 2026 aimed at helping brand owners shift from non-recyclable laminates – containing materials such as PET, aluminum foil or paper – to mono-material, mechanically recyclable PP-based laminates and single webs across flexible packaging markets.
Jindal Films Europe presented several recently introduced BOPP grades said to replace PET films, barrier PET films, paper and aluminum foils in dry product applications. Outer web solutions developed to replace PET films include Bicor MB100, MR100 and MR103, with the company stating it has since focused innovation efforts on OPP barrier film webs.
Growing market demand for mono-material solutions in liquid packaging drove the development of two films targeting a range of applications from cold-fill to hot-fill, pasteurized and aseptic segments. Metallyte 18MML883 and Alox-lyte 18AOL893, according to the company, are developed to meet the requirements of three-ply laminates for liquid packaging – excluding retort applications – and offer improved performance over current vacuum-coated grades for segments including condiments, sauces, juices, and fruit or vegetable purées.
Also on display was Bicor 25&30MBH568, a transparent PP mono-material BOPP film range with thin water-based coatings developed for high-speed HFFS flow-pack formats, primarily targeting biscuits and baked goods. The company said the film provides strong seal performance alongside medium-range barrier properties (WVTR 3 and OTR 10), and conforms to the CEN EN 18120-7 ‘design-for-recycling’ standard issued in mid-April 2026. MBH568 was presented as a single-web replacement for PVdC-coated films and various laminates using other clear barrier technologies. Live demonstrations of the film running on machinery were held at the stands of Bradman Lake, IMA Eurosicma and G Schubert during the show.
