interpack China 2026 press conference in Düsseldorf

interpack China 2026 Press Conference was successfully held at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre during interpack 2026 on 8 May 2026, at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. The event drew international media and industry representatives from Singapore, India, Japan, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, and Austria.

Senior project director Larry Chen, who moderated the event, said that following its 10th anniversary and rebranding in 2025, interpack China 2026 will further accelerate its internationalization. He said the exhibition aims to serve as a platform for business matchmaking and collaborative innovation for the Asia-Pacific region.

In her opening address, general manager Evian Gu said the rebranding represents more than a name change – it marks an upgrade in the show’s global standing and industry influence. Backed by interpack’s global resources, the exhibition will continue to help Chinese companies integrate into the global supply chain while attracting international exhibitors and trade buyers to the Chinese market. This year’s show is expected to span 70,000 square meters across five halls, with over 970 domestic and international companies participating and around 47,000 trade visitors anticipated, approximately 20% of whom are expected to be international.

Celine To, general manager of Adsale Exhibition Services, said the global packaging industry is advancing toward smarter and more sustainable practices, supported by flexible manufacturing, smart logistics and a resilient global supply chain. She noted that the adoption of recyclable and biodegradable packaging materials is accelerating as the green transition gathers pace.

Allan Wang, deputy project director at Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai), outlined the show’s highlights. The floor will feature specialized zones including a paper-based sustainable packaging zone, a scenario-based smart connectivity zone, a packaging products and material hall, and international halls. The exhibition will cover topics such as smart interactive packaging, paper-based high-barrier, net-zero/low-carbon packaging, compliance with PPWR and EPR regulations, and AI packaging design. An upgraded hosted buyer program will also be on offer for companies seeking opportunities in China and the broader Asian market.

interpack China 2026 takes place November 16–18 November 2026, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
