Huhtamaki appoints Sara Engber to lead fiber packaging division

Sara Engber (56), has been appointed president, fiber packaging and member of the global executive team at Huhtamaki. She will report to president and CEO Ralf K Wunderlich and be based in Espoo, Finland.

The appointment is following the decision in which Huhtamaki has decided to separate the Fiber Foodservice business segment into two distinct business segments, Fiber Packaging and Foodservice Europe-Asia-Oceania.

Sara Engber has worked at Huhtamaki since 2009 in multiple positions, most recently as senior vice president, operations, North America. Fredrik Davidsson will continue as a member of global executive team as president, Foodservice Europe-Asia-Oceania. Both changes will become effective as of April 1, 2025, at the latest.

Following the organizational changes, Huhtamaki’s global executive team now comprises key leaders across various functions and regions. Ralf K. Wunderlich serves as the chair, president, and CEO, overseeing the company’s strategic direction. Salla Ahonen, executive vice president, sustainability and communications, leads efforts in sustainability and corporate messaging. Fredrik Davidsson, president of foodservice Europe-Asia-Oceania, oversees regional foodservice operations. Sara Engber will assume the role of president, fiber packaging, by 1 April 2025, while Axel Glade will take over as president, flexible packaging, by 1 January 2026.

Ann O’Hara, president of North America, leads the company’s regional business in that market. Thomas Geust, chief financial officer, manages financial strategy and performance. Sami Pauni, executive vice president, corporate affairs and legal, serves as group general counsel. Johan Rabe, executive vice president, digital and process performance, drives digital transformation and process improvements. Ingolf Thom, executive vice president, human resources and safety, focuses on talent and workplace safety initiatives. Finally, Wilhelm Wolff, executive vice president, strategy and business development, spearheads long-term strategic planning and growth initiatives.
