New Delhi-based Advantage Offset has evolved from a commercial print operation into a quality-focused printing enterprise over the past decade, the company said, through continued investment in equipment, workflow optimization and customer-facing capabilities.
Advantage Offset was founded by Ashwani Gulati. The company’s journey with Komori began 11 years ago with the installation of its first Komori offset press. From that first press to the recent addition of a GL A 440, Advantage Offset has relied on Komori technology to support productivity, print quality and business growth, according to the company. Today, a family of five Komori offset presses forms the core of the company’s print operations.
The humble beginning
The company’s relationship with Komori began with the installation of a 4-color Lithrone A37, which provided a production platform for print quality, consistency and efficiency, the company said. Management adopted a long-term technology strategy, with each subsequent investment aligned to customer requirements, market opportunities and growth plans.
As customer expectations increased, Advantage Offset added a second Komori machine – an Enthrone 429 – and expanded its pressroom, along with pre-press and post-press capabilities, to gain greater control over quality and turnaround times.
Everything under one roof
Advantage Offset’s approach centers on operating multiple production processes under one roof to support speed, reliability and consistency for customers, the company said.
In 2022, Advantage Offset installed its third Komori press, another Enthrone 429, which the company said enhanced production flexibility and its ability to handle a wider range of commercial print applications. The investment reflected the company’s confidence in Komori technology, press performance and after-sales support from the Komori India team, according to the company. This was followed by a fourth Komori machine, a GL 437.
The next chapter
The installation of a Lithrone G40 Advance marked the company’s fifth Komori press. The investment was part of an ongoing effort to upgrade manufacturing capabilities to meet market demands, the company said.
The Lithrone G40 Advance brought higher production efficiency, faster makeready times, improved print consistency, greater automation, reduced wastage and improved profitability, according to the company. Advantage Offset has also booked a sixth Komori machine.
A complete ecosystem
According to the company, what distinguishes Advantage Offset is not simply the acquisition of new presses but consistent investment in a complete print manufacturing ecosystem, including production infrastructure, printing technology, finishing capabilities, skilled manpower, quality management systems and customer-focused production planning. Advantage Offset described Komori as a strategic technology partner rather than a machinery supplier.
Factors the company cited as influencing its repeat investment in Komori presses include print quality, machine reliability, productivity, reduced downtime, automation capabilities, service support and long-term return on investment.
Lessons for print businesses
The company’s experience points to several takeaways for print businesses. Technology investments should support long-term growth rather than address only immediate requirements. Combining pre-press, press and post-press capabilities into an integrated workflow can create competitive advantages. Modern print businesses need to balance quality and productivity while maintaining cost efficiency. Long-term partnerships with technology suppliers, the company said, can reduce operational risks and improve profitability.
