Highcon partners with Sun Digital

Highcon Systems has announced the appointment of Sun Digital as a distributor in Mexico for its full range of digital cutting and creasing solutions for folding cartons and corrugated industries.

Based in Mexico City, Sun Digital has over 50 years of experience in providing digital and conventional printing solutions to the graphic arts industry. It is also the largest HP Indigo channel partner in Mexico, supplying the highest quality equipment and consumables to hundreds of printers and converters.

Highcon’s vice president of sales for the Americas, Mike Ciaramella, explained that Sun Digital is the ideal partner for Highcon’s customers due to its well-established distribution network, broad product offering and experienced sales and technical teams. “We are delighted to partner with a trusted company that can offer the best possible service to our customers. We look forward to working together to develop our customer base in this important market.”

Ricardo del Castilo, president of Sun Digital, said that the new distribution partnership complements the company’s own digital offerings. He said, “We have built our business and reputation by providing reliable service and by partnering with leading companies that support our customers in their developments and innovations. Highcon’s products are likely to generate great interest from printers and converters who seek to become more digitalized focused and take advantage of the exponential growth of e-commerce.”

As part of the agreement, Sun Digital will sell, supply and support Highcon’s portfolio of digital die-cutting and creasing solutions for folding carton and corrugated converting, including the Highcon Beam 2C non-stop configuration, the Highcon Euclid 5C for corrugated packaging, and the Highcon Beam 2 and Highcon Euclid 5 for folding cartons. Key features of Highcon’s digital finishing technology are creasing, laser cutting and stripping systems. This technology facilitates digitally-driven physical creasing by applying 3D printed rules. Creasing, cutting, and stripping are all performed on one single platform, in one pass, at high speed, eliminating the need for die-cutting and stripping tools.
