DGM India has sold three folder-gluers at the PrintPack India 2019 exhibition. While Hyderabad-based Pragati bought the SmartFold 1100PC folder-gluer, Kolkata-based Sattik Packaging and Delhi-based Packmaax India inked the deal for Megafold 2400 and SmartFold 1100SL respectively. For Sattik Packaging, which also makes 3- and 5-ply boxes, this is the second folder-gluer from DGM.
The SmartFold 1100PC folder-gluer has a capability to do straight-line, bottom-lock and double-wall boxes with a speed of 400 meters per minute. Puneet Aggarwal, managing director of DGM India, said that Pragati liked the ‘motorized with memory’ feature of the folder-gluer. He said, “Normally, in folder-gluers available in the market, the conveyor movement is executed by operators manually by moving a handle. But our folder-gluer has a motorized function. So no manual operation by the handle is required. With the press of a button, you can move the conveyors. So, it becomes easy for operators. Once you setup the complete machine which has a memory function, you just have to press the memory button and the programme is saved in the computer. So whenever you have a repeat job, you just need to recall that job and every section conveyor will start setting up automatically. Hence you don’t need to create a job ticket, job log etc., as everything is in the PLC. This makes job changeovers a lot faster. This is the main reason why Pragati chose this folder-gluer.”
Puneet Aggarwal, MD of DGM India, revealed that by the time the PrintPack exhibition concludes, the count of DGM machines sold over last four months in India will go up to more than 10. A stellar salesman who has his fingers on the pulse of the Indian market, Aggarwal joined as managing director of DGM India in November 2018.
